Nebraska JBQ Statement of Purpose Scripture: Colossians 2:6-8: “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus our Lord, so walk in HIM. Rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware: lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the traditions of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” KJV Statement of Purpose: To prepare, build up, and establish young people in the faith as they diligently study God’s Word. Goal: To raise up our children fully equipped to serve the Lord both in the body of Christ and in the world, as the Lord our God shall call. Nebraska Bible Quiz is about discipling our children. Training them up in the way they should go, so that, when they are old, they will not depart from it.

10 Things Every Quizzer Should Gain From Quizzing
1. LEARN GOOD STUDY SKILLS Opportunity for student / parent involvement to develop study skills and devote time learning God's Word. 2. LEARN DISCIPLINE SKILLS Patience in competition or filling the role as assigned rather than doing only what the quizzer would normally do if permitted. 3. LEARN THE WORD OF GOD Have a Biblical foundation to form a strong world Biblical view. Understanding 'why' a Christian does or does not do certain things. Knowing 'why' we tithe, attend church services regularly, study the Word, and minister to others. 4. LEARN TO ROLE PLAY Everyone cannot do everything. Quizzers are asked to fill specific roles for the team's benefit. 5. LEARN RESPECT FOR LEADERSHIP Quizzers must listen and obey their coach's specific instructions. They may not tell the other quizzer, a coach or officals how to perform their duties. 6. LEARN RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER Quizzers are not to correct one another, nor ridicule or make fun. They are not to monitor and make evaluation of another quizzer's ability or performance. 7. LEARN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOOD AND BAD COMPETITION The sole priority of quizzing is not winning, nor gaining personal accolades, but doing wht is best for the team and staying within the individual role assignment. 8. LEARN ABOUT CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY Quizzers should develop Christian friendships, pray for one another and enjoy fellowship with members of their own team and with those of other churches. 9. LEARN TO TEST THEIR OWN LEADERSHIP SKILLS Quizzers should learn about doing what is right, at the right time, for the right reasons. 10. LEARN TO HAVE FUN Quiz teams should have fun wherever they go. Never let another adult or quizzer hinder that aspect of quizzing. |
