Sunday School Training
Sunday School Training

The Christian Education department of the Nebraska District is offering a new training seminar in 2010 for churches in Nebraska. This seminar is designed especially for teachers. This means Sunday School teachers, as well as anyone who teaches the Bible in other settings of church life, whether to children, youth, or adults.
The seminar is made up of three sessions:
- The first session trains teachers to teach God's story in every episode of the Biblical narrative.
- The second session will help teachers grow in their understanding of the parts of the Bible, the importance of Biblical context, and how to avoid common pitfalls of interpreting the Bible.
- The third session will give teachers the opportunity to consider their students' maturity and capacity for learning the Bible, relating to the Lord, and living out their faith. This day will be informative, full of discussion, and a real challenge to the teachers in your section.
The seminar will be offered on a Saturday, from 9:30am to 2:30pm. Alex Brodine, pastor at North Park Assembly in Holdrege, will facilitate the seminar. This is a great opportunity to get Sunday School teachers from different churches together to encourage each other. We will give out over 30 new teaching materials to resource teachers who feel “stuck in a rut”. The faith of the next generation hinges on what children, youth and adults in our churches are being taught today. Ongoing training equips the teachers in your section and reminds them of the importance of their ministry.
