JJ Jackson

Network Group Leader of: Nebraska Chaplains

Church name & Location: Flatland, Omaha

Years in current position: 7 Years

Tell us about your family: Michele and I met as kids when her family moved in on our block. We were married as teenagers in 1977 (while I was serving in the military) and have four children – two boys and two girls. We now have 13 grandchildren ranging in age from 3 to 22 years. We’ve always been active in church, especially in children’s ministry, and we were foster parents for 12 years, 10 of which while I was also working in a group home in Council Bluffs. We’re retired Postal workers and enjoy the freedom to minister without financial stress. We began ministering to jail and prison inmates within months of my becoming a Certified Minister and dearly love the people we serve. We began with one Mod (cell block) at the Douglas County Jail, and have expanded to three within the past 5 months.

Pets: None.

Hobbies: Nation-wide motorcycle cruises, local league-hockey

Favorite Sports Team: Red Wings

Favorite Food: Rib Eye (Nebraska corn-fed)

Tell us a fun fact about yourself: I’m an active juggling unicyclist.
