 John Bishop

Church name & Location: My wife Sarah and I attend Cornerstone Fellowship in Bayard, Larry Russel is the pastor. 

Years pastoring in your current position: In August of 2018 we moved to Scottsbluff from Central Florida and I took a position on staff at Western Nebraska Community College as the Clinical Education Coordinator for the Emergency Medical Services Program.  A year or so back I spoke briefly to Pastor Toby about chaplaincy in the first responder arena, it was just within the last 6 to 8 months I was approached by Panhandle Health Department to help organize a chaplaincy group in the Panhandle.

Years in pastoral ministry: 39 Years

Tell us about your family: Married to my best friend, Sarah for 39 years. We have 3 sons.

David – oldest son he is a High school teacher, Tallahassee, Florida, at present, ordained minister, former live dead Maps worker in Russia. Married to Marlene, ordained minister. Grandson – Isaiah.

Samuel -middle son – Stay at home dad – married to Leah (Sgt US Airforce – Beale AFB) Granddaughter – Graley

Stephen- Youngest Son – RN at Jackson Hospital – California – Married to Kathryn, also an RN.  Grandsons – Elijah and Noah.

Pets: Lucy – German shorthair /Standard poodle mix, Pepper – Dauchshund / Chihuahua mix, Psalty – Poodle mix, Galaxy – Longhaired Russian Blue (cat)

Hobbies: Gardening, Fishing, Camping

Favorite Sports Team: Dallas Cowboys  (off and on since college)

Favorite Food: Spaghetti

Tell us a fun fact about yourself: I can “moo” at cows over an ambulance PA and the cows all start mooing back and running toward the ambulance.
