Jacob Werner

Years pastoring in your current position: 1.5 years

Years in pastoral ministry: 1.5 as a Pastor, and 4 as a Youth Leader/Intern

Tell us about your family: My wife Jenna and I have been married for 3 years, but we met when we were Freshman in Youth Group. We don’t have any kids as of yet, but we have 2 nephews to keep us busy when we get to see them. We have lived in Norfolk for about a year and a half, and before that lived in Kearney. This was a big move for Jenna because she had never lived anywhere else besides Kearney! We love to fellowship with our church family, and are starting to find connections in our community. We not only lead the Youth Ministry at Victory Road AG, but we also started and now volunteer at an after school program at our local YMCA. We definitely try to soak up as much time together as we can. With Jenna working the night shift at the hospital as a nurse, I have had to adapt to become a night owl to see her for more than a couple hours before I would normally go to bed. Jenna and I love to cook together, and now that we are starting to meal prep we have extended time in the kitchen together cooking meals for later in the week.

Pets: One of the things we gained when we moved up here was our pet dog Phena. (Feena) We adopted her from my Maw Maw (Grandma) who had recently moved and wasn’t able to keep her anymore. She has been a task to learn to take care of, and deal with the fun things shelter dogs come with.

Hobbies: I like to play Video Games occasionally, whether with students in our Youth Group or with other friends.

Favorite Sports Team: LSU, Sorry Huskers Fans

Favorite Food: Chicken Gumbo, specifically if my dad makes it.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself: The first time I met Jenna at Youth Group I spilled water all over her, before she had to go on stage for worship that night.
