MINISTER SPOTLIGHT
Dani Nelson
Church name and location: Southridge Church, Papillion NE
Years pastoring in your current position: 3 Years
Years in pastoral ministry: 4? Maybe 5. I can’t remember – I am really bad with dates, lol.
Tell us about your family: Andrew and I have been married for 6 years. We own a home in downtown Papillion and it’s my favorite place on earth. Both sides of our immediate family all live within 15 minutes of us which is really fun. Recently, we have just started taking the “first steps” to become licensed foster parents.
Pets: No pets! Just plants.
Hobbies: I love thrifting! I’m also always rearranging or reorganizing my house.
Favorite Sports Team: I think this is the part where I pretend to care about the Huskers, lol.
Favorite Food: Breakfast Food! anytime, anywhere.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself: My dad was in the Navy when I was growing up so in addition to living in Nebraska, I have also lived in Wales, United Kingdom – Virginia Beach, Virginia – and San Diego, California.
NEWS FROM THE NETWORK
Nebraska Ministry Network Sabbatical -Steve and Jan Wilson
Jan and I would like to thank the NE Network, Tri-City Section, and Superintendent Toby for giving us this sabbatical. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We decided about the end of May to retire from full-time ministry, 16 years at Red Cloud, at the end of September. We decided this would be an ideal time to take the sabbatical on the first day of retirement. We arrived at a Bed and Breakfast “Whispering Pines” in Nebraska City, on Friday, October 1st.
We spent 5 days in a wonderful location with time to relax, be refreshed, and be encouraged. We lived in SE Nebraska for 18 years before moving to Red Cloud. We had the opportunity to visit Good News A/G in Falls City is where we started our journey and to renew acquaintances. Also, two former NRCS coworkers and spouses for 18 years came to Nebraska City to spend time with us. We even had the opportunity to play golf at Table Creek and visit Indian Cave State Park.
We are truly blessed to be part of a great network that values the health and well-being of ministers.
Thank You
Steve and Jan Wilson
