Pray for the Peace of Ukraine
Join with AG World Missions and the Eurasia region as we pray for peace in Ukraine. As tensions rise along Ukraine’s eastern border, amid military buildup and escalated conflict, the Eurasia region is working to monitor the situation on a daily and often hourly basis. Several weeks ago, all AGWM missionaries within the country were encouraged to leave if they felt led to do so.
Our AGWM security team is aiding in this process, providing our missionaries with advice and timely information as it comes in. These updates are helping us ensure the safety of our missionaries amid the hostilities taking place along Ukraine’s border. Please join AGWM and the Eurasia team in prayer for the church, believers, and all the citizens of Ukraine during this crucial time.
For the latest updates, please visit the AGWM Facebook page.
MINISTER SPOTLIGHT
Phil Deakin
Church name and location: Living Hope Assembly of God in Blair, Nebraska.
Years pastoring in your current position: Have served as a Deacon and Adult Bible study teacher in Blair for the past 24 years.
Years in pastoral ministry: Just starting that journey, since recently credentialed in 2021.
Tell us about your family: My wife Celeste and I have been married for 38 years. We met in church one day in Fairfax, Virginia. I was and still am a mechanical engineer and when we met, Celeste was a teacher in an Assembly of God school in Alexandria Virginia. We have four adult children, currently all in the Omaha area. All our children were homeschooled.
Pets: No pets right now, but when the children were growing up, we had Huskies.
Hobbies: I love daily Bible reading and taking care of our acreage which is between Omaha and Blair. We love to travel, and my favorite trip was to Israel, where the Bible came alive for our family.
Favorite Sports Team: Obviously now the Huskers, but I grew up a Bills fan.
Favorite Food: Steak and salad
Tell us a fun fact about yourself: I was born in the UK. My Dad was an Englishman and my mother was an American but they moved back to the US because the coast of England was too cold and damp for Mom.
