The church is across the street from the high school. It has a good relationship with the school and would like to continue to connect with young people and the community. Average Sunday morning attendance runs between 25-30+. Assembly of God credentials are required.

First Assembly of God in Scottsbluff is seeking to fill the Lead Pastor position.

The Pastor will provide:

Ministry of the Word:
• Preaches and teaches the word of God as led by the Holy Spirit
according to the doctrine of the Assemblies of God.
• Highlighting the Pentecostal gifts of the Holy Spirit is foundational to First Assembly.

Passionate Worship:
• Prioritizes vibrant worship in the presence of the Holy Spirit

Pastoral care of the body of Christ:
• Counseling, prayer, encouragement, challenge congregants to learn and operate in their giftings, restoration care, and serve to strengthen the church as it grows into the image of Christ.

Leadership:
• Hearing from God, His will for the church, and communicating that clearly to the people is a crucial function.
• Determining God’s direction and goals for the congregation and assists the church in achieving the goals by promoting the goals.
• Including the vital task of administration, managing of finances, and resources.
• Leadership needs to spend the time required in His presence to hear His heartbeat for the local assembly so they can declare that to the people.
• Growing and fostering relationships within the church and community.
• Continue with Mission’s giving and support.

Pastoral Care of themselves:
• The Pastor needs the discipline of willing submission to the authorities that God has put in place.
• The Assemblies of God sectional, district, and national leadership provide that much-needed presence of security and accountability.
• Pastor will take days off and vacations.
• Attend leadership meetings, Network Council, pastoral sectional meetings, pastor connect groups.

Nebraska Ministry Network Involvement:
• Actively participate in sectional and district events i.e. Kids/Youth Camp, Men’s, Women’s retreats, Royal Rangers campouts, etc.

* First Assembly is a General Council Affiliated Church agreeing with the Assemblies of God’s Statement of Fundamental Truths.
* Required Credentials: Licensed with the Assemblies of God.
* Bi-Vocational is optional.

Spiritual leadership, which is caring for the congregation as a shepherd cares for the sheep, is based on the willingness to serve.

Are you a single woman with a heart to minister to other women? Do you have a heart for missions but aren’t sure you want to leave the country? If either of these describes you, Sheepgate Women’s Center (a home-based mission field) might be the place for you. Sheepgate Women’s Center (a division of Adult & Teen Challenge) is a long-term discipleship program serving women with life controlling issues. Our comprehensive recovery program includes group classes, individual study, personal mentoring, and work ethic training. Our vision is that every SHEEPGATE student will become emotionally healthy, physically well, and spiritually alive. As a long-term residential program, we need strong, faith-filled women who desire to mentor other women. We are currently looking for someone to fill the position of Education Coordinator. This position would be responsible for the education piece of our program which includes teaching students’ basic tenements of the Christian faith and how to live a life submitted to Jesus. This is accomplished through the Teen Challenge USA curriculum, reading the Bible, books and other specific projects we have developed. This is a hands-on mentoring, discipling position. The right candidate would be solid in their understanding of the Bible, be of strong moral character, not afraid of Biblical confrontation and have a desire to mentor women. We provide on the job training, communal housing (with a private room), meals, full insurance benefits (for full time employees), a modest salary and the blessing of God that comes with being a disciple.
